SUSTAINABILITY
WE WANT OUR APPROACH TO BE SUSTAINABLE - IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. THIS IS WHY WE DO NOT ONLY FACE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY BUT ALSO ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL ASPECTS.
Besides providing housing that is more sustainable through better isolation that minimizes the use of energy, solar cells on roofs will produce green energy to be used in the houses or apartments. Passive heating, air movement and thermal mass can also contribute to a more sustainable housing.

Public Transport uses a lot of energy, this is why we will establish car sharing, based on electric vehicles and bike sharing for shorter distances. Busses will be hybrid vehicles to minimize pollution in the area.

Climate Change becomes more and more a concern when thinking about the future. To face rising sea level which might affect the area and a lot of other waterfront developments, the development will be flood proof, just like Hamburg Hafen City with flood proof doors in the ground floors and basements that are used as carparks but can be flooded in case of emergency.

Furthermore the development provides green routes and parks that create natural areas and allow on-site composting.

ENVIRONMENT
TO BE SUSTAINABLE, NEW DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE SHOULD COMPLEMENT THE LANDSCAPE AND AREA. ITS CONSTRUCTION SHOULD ADD TO WHAT'S ALREADY IN THE ENVIRONMENT RATHER THAN TAKING FROM IT.
The general definition of economic sustainability is the ability of an economy to support a defined level of economic production indefinitely.

We want our build up economy to support London's growth but also be strong enough to last for many years in the designated area.
As Millennium Mills is a designated area for a tax relief for business that want to settle it will allow the local economy to grow even better.

The shared floorspace created for smaller businesses and start ups is ideal to help them move in temporary and grow. We want these businesses to become strong enough to be able to operate in the future and move on - from Millennium Mills into the world.

We also want to break taxes for carbon free transport and green development.

ECONOMIC
SUSTAINABILITY COVERS MORE THAN JUST ENVIRONMENT. ALL ASPECTS IN THIS GRAPH OVERLAP WITH EACH OTHER AND SHOW THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THEM.
Social sustainability is based on the concept that a decision or project promotes the betterment of society. In general, future generations should have the same or greater quality of life benefits as the current generation do.

We want to financially support education facilities in our area, as in our eyes generated knowledge is one of the main factors for a sustainable future.

Creating jobs in different skill levels also helps to keep people in employment and offer them jobs for the future. Furthermore the Community Center will run skill workshops in cooperation with our founded social enterprises.
